John 14

The Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send - The Spirit proceeds from the Father and is sent by the Son for our sanctification.

In my Father's house are many mansions - Heaven contains different degrees of glory, each soul receiving according to its capacity.

I am the way - There is no coming to the Father but through Christ as Mediator.

I am the way - The new and living way to God and to heaven.

I am the way - No man can come to the Father but by him; none did, none do, none ever shall.

I am the way - The only way to God. The truth - The true teacher. The life - The author of spiritual and eternal life.

I am the way - Christ is the only way by which we can come to God. Out of Christ there is nothing but death and hell.

I am the way, the truth, and the life - This is a most sublime and important affirmation.

Let not your heart be troubled - Do not be distressed or anxious on account of my going away.

No man cometh unto the Father, but by me - There is no other way of coming to God than through Christ.

I go to prepare a place for you - This shows his great love to his people, that he should go before them to prepare heaven for them.

Let not your heart be troubled - These words are spoken by way of consolation to his disciples.

I am the way - As the way, he leads us to the Father; as the truth, he reveals the Father; as the life, he animates us with a life of grace here.

Let not your heart be troubled - Ye believe in God, believe also in me - Have confidence; everything is under my direction.

Peace I leave with you - My peace I give unto you. This was the legacy Christ left to his disciples.

I am the way, the truth, and the life - I am all that you need, and all that you can wish for.

In my Father's house are many mansions - Heaven is a house, not a tent or tabernacle; it is a house not made with hands.

Let not your heart be troubled - These are the words of the most comfortable sermon that was ever preached.
